AW Architects is a multi-disciplinary design practice committed to design and construction innovation. The firm has been serving commercial and institutional clients for over 20 years, and its work has been recognized both internationally and across the United States.

AW recently received a 2014 National Honor Award from the American Institute of Architects, one of only 11 buildings in the country so recognized. The firm’s work has received numerous other design awards, including the Business Week/Architectural Record “Good Design is Good Business Award,” the Progressive Architecture Award, The Boston Society of Architects’ Harleston Parker Award, and the Chicago Athenaeum’s American Architecture Award.

AW’s projects have been published widely in professional journals, such as Architectural Record and Architect Magazine, as well as on CNN.com. Its work has also been featured in design anthologies, such as the American Institute of Architects’ Designs for the New Decade and Princeton Architectural Press’ Materials for Design.

The principals of AW Architects teach, lecture, and serve on design juries at leading institutions in the US and abroad, including Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the American University of Beirut, Washington University, the Illinois Institute of Technology, the Rhode Island School of Design, and Northeastern University. Both partners received their Master of Architecture degree from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design, and each has served on Boards of Directors at important local institutions, such as the Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston and the Boston Society of Architects.
